Updates to the IETP Certification Program

The ICTI Ethical Toy Program (IETP) will be introducing two updates to its Social Certification Program from 1st April 2022. 1) Announced Audit, a new option for Annual AuditsTo provide better flexibility for the factory when arranging the audit, IETP will offer factories the option to select an Announced or Unannounced Annual Audit. Starting from 1st April 2022, factory members who are applying for their Initial Certification Audit (ICA) or Initial Annual Audit (IAA) will be required to select their desired audit type during the registration process. Factory representatives must confirm their buyer(s)’ required audit type before selecting the option i.e.: if their buyer accepts an announced audit report. IETP will not be responsible for any loss caused by the factory's choice of an announced or unannounced audit. When an announced audit is selected, IETP reserves final discretion on given audit type. The final decision will be made considering a number of different factors, including but not limited to, a factory’s previous performance in audit transparency. 2) Audit Checklist Updates, Version 2.4The IETP Certification Audit Checklist is regularly reviewed to respond to the evolving needs of factories, brands, and retailers, reflecting regulation changes and integrating best practices. In response to feedback we have received from our buyer and factory members, IETP has made changes to 7 areas of the Audit Checklist, adding further clarity and providing further instructions in the guidance text. The new Audit Checklist (version 2.4) will be effective from 1st April 2022, please visit https://www.ethicaltoyprogram.org/en/resources/factory-resources/etp-audit-checklist/ to download the updated checklist and view the modifications summary.Any inquiries about the above two updates, please contact: info@ethicaltoyprogram.org
