UNICEF and UN Global Compact Summit on “Family-Friendly Policies: A Deep Dive on Business Action”

Ethical Toy Program will be presenting at the UN Global Compact’s summit on family-friendly policies in New York on July 19, 2019. A growing number of Ethical Toy Program Members are seeing the value of offering family-friendly policies (including paid parental leave, breastfeeding breaks, quality childcare) not just because it's the right thing but also the smart thing to do. These policies can increase employee retention and allow the career positioning and advancement of working parents, especially mothers; boost employee engagement and morale; make companies more competitive and attract talent; while improving brand image and taking companies closer to global sustainability standards.Program such as Ethical Toy Program Family Friendly Spaces (FFS) enable parents and caregivers to provide the best start in life for their children; they pay off in healthier, better-educated children, a better-equipped workforce and more sustainable growth.Following a morning summit with government, business, the UN, academia and civil society, UNICEF and the UN Global Compact invite you to join a business-focused deep-dive on key issues and challenges around family-friendly policies. At the event, Ethical Toy Program will share stories from FFS highlight how these are delivering positive impacts for workers and children – as well as business benefits for participating factories. The event will also present new evidence, convene stakeholders and provide detailed information and guidance to drive action toward greater investment in family-friendly policies in business operations and supply chains. If you would like more information or are interested in attending, please email the IETP team.Event details:Date: Friday, July 19, 2019Location: UNICEF, New York City
